The problem with my R4 is that I tried updating it and got a "Please upgrade the hardware for support latest firmware." error. I tried looking through the threads about r4-sdhc problems and no real fix, but there was this one post that this person got it fixed by downgrading the firmware to 1.06b. The only reason I need the R4 is to fix my broken SCDS2. I want to use the recovery method for it, but when I tried (with the 1.06b) the loading screen is there, on the touch screen, and I can't do anything. I did try putting in the SCDS2, but to no avail. I tried booting a game on 1.06b and it worked just not the recovery method nds.

I but the SCDS2 from Digitopz and found this old R4 whilst looking for a flashcart. Can you only update the R4 on a DSL or can it be done on the fat DS?
