Hacking r4 original question

Hi guys, i have a strange question for you.
What happens if i insert an original R4 DS/DSLITE in a 3DS before/after an update?
I know it won't work, but i'm just curious if the 3DS detect the flashcard and record that i have used a flashcard or will do nothing?
Because i want to try it without any reason, but i'm kinda scared about future problem i could have (Brik? Wifi Ban?).

The 3DS wont record any information since it wont even detect the R4.

You can insert it anywhere you want.
The 3DS has no clue its even in it.
