Because it's blacklisted

Because it's blacklisted
How is that statement going to help fixing the issue?

Technically speaking the above answer is probably correct. If your DSi loads retail games normally this is a "flashcart blacklisted"-issue. Possible solutions:
  • Getting a newer flashcart
  • Replacing your R4 with TWiLight Menu++. It has become really good. Give it a try → https://dsi.cfw.guide/
  • Updating the firmware of your R4 (if any update exists). This is not the kernel software on the µSD. Just replacing files on the µSD will not help. You will need temporary access to another DS system which successfully starts your R4 as it is to apply any update. Note that some carts can be bricked on bad update.
  • Disabling the blacklist by installing unlaunch. Unlaunch is now an optional step on https://dsi.cfw.guide/
    • I recommend never uninstalling unlaunch after installation. There have been bricks on uninstalling unlaunch and as far as I know the reason is still unknown.
    • Unlaunch disables music and sound in normal menu ("Launcher"). Some people dislike this.
    • Replacing Launcher with TWiLight Menu++ will give you many customization options so the music+sound part should not be relevant.
    • TWiLight Menu++ might be able to load your R4 even without unlaunch.
Good luck and have fun!

fyi when installing Unlaunch using TWiLight Menu++ you can have it disable patching the launcher if you didn't know
(https://dsi.cfw.guide/installing-unlaunch#section-ii---installingupdating-unlaunch, step 5)
Thanks for the correction, @Pk11! Didn't know this (not actively following TWiLight Menu++ development and changes as well as changes on the DSi guide).

My warning about the music/sound patches was more or less like a text module which I always used to prevent even more "I want to get rid of CFW!!11!"-threads. I personally am happy about no music/sound in Launcher and the useless picture is a just very minor nuisance (bad readability) when using unlaunch File Menu once in a while.

Hope the rest of my answer is still valid. Cannot hold up with the changes at the moment for personal reasons and don't wanna give bad or outdated advise.
