They may be junk but they are not counterfeits.
They have distinctive names and boxes and do not claim to be R4 team products.
I do not know if they work or if they are dangerous, but I do not think it is fair to call them fakes or counterfeits until we know for sure what they are. They are sold by Volumerate and realhotstuff among other outlets.

Well I Do have one of the R4 clones, i ordered it by mistake i got it today and if u download the firmware from the actual makers website it works fine. now i do have a M3 Real tah i use on a regular basis that i ordered after i realized that the R4 advance was a fake. but in my experience the clones are fine and dont brick DS. i have the R4-Advance

Which part of them makes them not an R4 product and is original? Using the name R4 Advance makes sure they're riding R4's popularity and obviously is a fake

The fact that they have distinctive names doesnt clear them from being counterfiets. Why would they copy the main part of the r4? Why didnt they change the r4 part? This is the same as making a product and calling it Nintendo Upgrade or Nintendo III. So i do think these should be called fakes because they arent the original.
