Microsoft will ban 'offensive language' and 'inappropriate content' from Skype, Xbox, Office and other services on May 1, claiming it has the right to go through your private data to 'investigate.'

Maybe try a better title next time. This is quite the development but I almost never saw it.

I can see them wanting to clean up live, and maybe some public aspects of skype (I don't use skype anywhere like some seem to use it so I don't know how it goes) but to seemingly go much further than that is troubling.

Not sure what to say, hopefully we come out the other side of it with some better speech protections/fondness for speech and an example of what not to do.
 
Maybe everyone will finally give up on skype then. It needs to die. When Microsoft bought it, I stopped using it right then and there. They drove that thing into the ground. Everyone that I used to message with on their all have switched to discord and hate skype.
