There is no comparison . Letterbomb is a wii exploit that allows you to install hbc without the need for any game while Modmii is a pc program that downloads all the things you need to hack your wii & generate for you a guide to follow (which will contain using letterbomb if you are on 4.3) in order to hack the wii .

Ok so let me get this straight, its hard typing on a mobile but please bear with me:

So if I letterbomb I still get all the features in modmii?.

Use Modmii. It shows you how to softmod your wii using letterbomb. Letterbomb is only an exploit, while modmii is a total softmod tutorial and tool.

No you don't need any game when using modmii . Just say that you don't have any of the games needed when asked in the wizard .

Letterbomb allows you to use the files that ModMii sets up for you, but ModMii will get letterbomb ready for you.

Dont think of modmii as a wii mod, think of it as a tool to help you mod your Wii by telling you exactly what you need to do and what files you need to install (and downloads them for you).

In short, this is how its done: You run the Wizard in ModMii, follow the directions, copy the files to your SD card as instructed, put in wii, start wii, launch Letterbomb and follow ModMii's excellent generated guide.

Hi

Another question my wii is 4.3E so do I use 4,3 on the modmii to do this, I'm guessing the E is for Europe?.

Thanks, not sure if I miss this but do I need the Wii to have wifi on or should I switch it off??

Plus since I'm stepping ahead is there a good N64 emulator so I can play Goldeneye again?.

Thanks again kind community:)

Thanks,

Done pretty much everything and I downloaded the guide however, since I'm a wimp I need some clarification.

1) INSTALLING THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL (HBC) AND BOOTMII
=================================================

Note: if this Wii was previously modified, and it has either the HBC, BootMii as Boot2, or a Forwarder Channel installed, you can use that instead of an exploit.

If using BootMii as Boot2 to install the HBC, copy the 'BootMii' folder from your previous BootMii installation to the root of your SD Card (or download it using ModMii). Then boot your wii, BootMii will load, go To the SD menu, load bootmini.elf. This will load the Hackmii Installer allowing you to reinstall the HBC.

If using a Forwarder Channel, just save the boot.elf/dol from the app you want to load (ie. SD:\apps\hackmii_installer\boot.elf or SD:\apps\WiiMod\boot.dol) to the location used by your SPECIFIC Forwarder Channel (ie. SD:\apps\usbloader\boot.dol). Then start the channel and the Hackmii Installer will load allowing you to reinstall the HBC. Note, if your forwarder channel only loads dol's and not elf's, launch WiiMod's boot.dol, then use its "Apploader" to load the Hackmii Installer.

LETTERBOMB EXPLOIT
------------------

REQUIREMENTS: * AN SD or SDHC Card

Go to the "Messageboard" on your Wii and navigate to Yesterday
(depending on your timezone, it could also show up under Today).
Click on the envelope with the pink Bomb icon.

This runs the Hackmii Installer (and silently/automatically installs BootMii as IOS). Use the installer to install the Homebrew Channel (HBC) and Bootmii as Boot2 if possible.

Note: If you get a 'no vulnerable IOS' error message, run ModMii again and this time select the 'Hackmii Solutions' option and follow the new instructions before continuing this guide.

After you exit the hackmii installer, you will be taken to the HBC.
Hit the home button. In the top right corner you will see the IOS used by the HBC.

If the HBC is using an IOS other than IOS58 or your homebrew channel is upside-down, make a note of it as it applies later in the guide (you will have to reinstall the HBC).

If it is using IOS58 and your HBC is not upside-down, you can skip the Reinstall The Homebrew Channel step when you get to it.

As this is a virgin wii I have to letterbomb it first and which then installs the hbc but what was the point of using bootmii if it letterbomb does the same thing?.

I dont think you understand. Letterbomb is the actual exploit to hack the wii. Modmii is simply a tool to download all necessary files and walk you through the steps of hacking the wii. I have recently hacked a virgin wii with modmii using letterbomb and if you follow the instructions thoroughly, you should have no troubles at all.

^Thanks

OK letter bomb 'private folder' is on the root of the SD card,

Modmii has downloaded all the files so I copy all the content from copy_to_sd to root of the my sd card or do I copy the copy_to_sd folder?

One more thing and I do apologise but once I letter bomb it then how do I utilise all the modmii stuff I downloaded?. I'm reading the guide and I'm still tad confused.

Thanks

letterbomb is an exploit
an exploit allows you to run your an app off an sd card
the typical softmod process uses an exploit (ie. letterbomb) to launch the hackmii installer (ie. an app)
the hackmii installer in turn installs bootmii and the homebrew channel
then instead of using an exploit to launch other apps, u can launch them using the homebrew channel (as the rest of your modmii guide will explain when u get to that stage)

I hope that clears up a few of your questions
