btw, normal neek on the vwii cannot be used with ustealth. it's too old. neek2o can be, but you'll have to search for the leaked copy, and it is glitchy. however, just loading games through say usb loader gx -- no issues with neek2o and ustealth. it's just when you load the neek home menu, the menu is glitchy. normal neek works perfectly, but as I said, it can't be used with ustealth. I tried patching it using some information, but it didn't work. it doesn't use the libfat.a in this case.

Apologies if this is too long/involved and isn't the best place to ask but as I'm new I don't want to clutter up the main page since I'm a newbie and these are newbie questions. Feel free mods to move this to its own thread if need be. So tonight for the first time ever I'm softmodding my wii, I used the wii.guide site and doing letterbomb went smoothly so I have homebrew. However, after installing bootmii as both boot2 (there was an option to do so) and IOS as the guide said to (although it's not immediately obvious to me why I'd need IOS if I already have boot2 I still didn't want to deviate) apparently I needed to get the IOS anyways because upon resetting my wii there's no clear indication of me having boot2 as bootmii doesn't start up automatically as the guide says it's supposed to and still takes me right to the main system menu. Any idea why this would be? I did some reading around and some people said something about a newer system not having a vulnerable boot 2 or 1 or whatever, and I'd have no option but to create my backup nand though hbc's bootmii ios...but if this is the case why was there even an option to download as boot2 which I know for a fact I also did? Any way to check if I for sure have it and would it still kick in to help me in the event of a brick even if it doesn't start up right away normally? If it helps I checked the disc drive and it flashes the initial flash upon turning the wii on and once more before the pre wii menu screen. I read that can be a indication but then someone else contradicted and said it flashes repeatedly so I'm confused by the contradiction. In any case should I just go ahead and create the backup anyway via hbc's bootmii (which I do have) and forget about boot2, continuing on and getting priiloader? I don't plan on doing any heavy modding, just want to play my GC games using nintendont so I don't need my disks used.

Edit: SOLVED, NEVERMIND. I got it working with bootmii upon start up as it should. I must've not had my SD card in when I tried the restarts before because literally just tried it again and it worked fine. Literally a wasted post and wasted time writing all this, lmao. Doesn't seem to be an option to delete posts so I encourage deleting this to reduce clogging ty. Although, this could serve as a reminder not to be a dummy and overlook the simplest stuff like the sd card being in so maybe this has some slight use.

I was about to say you need a SD card in the slot. Welcome to the wonderful world of the modded Wii.
lolol glad to be apart of it. Guess it's easy (for me anyway) to get hung up on the more complicated stuff so much you lose all common sense >.<

There's an absolute minefield of things like this. This is a very useful forum though, any issues you have will undoubtedly have been encounter before by the folks on this forum.

Do a search and dive in! :)

Appreciate the warm welcome! Will try to do so more thoroughly in the future to avoid making posts like that embarrassing one again and not immediately panic and write frantically, lol. Thank you much

RA-SS won't load unless I load a program that works and quit it first. (I've been using FBZX Wii)

I've tried on running from USB and SD with the same result.

RA-SS also won't load up when my USB keyboard is plugged in. (I've tried an HP and Microsoft Keyboard). Again, I get the same result whether I run it from SD or USB. (Both keyboards work on FBZX Wii)

Could my IOSes be out of date?

Does anyone have any idea what title this is?

00010000534f5545

It's downloadable from the CDN. It is NOT Skyward sword, as it is only 7 MB. What is it?

ayyy!

So I know there are totally plenty of guides out there I'm not nervous at all about it I've modded plenty of original plain ole Wii units buuut can anyone confirm if I definitely need the sensor bar & what not to mod a Wii or can I do it all with the up, down, left, right a & b via a Classic controller or somethin' I plug in to a controller port on the Wii?

Trying to take as few parts besides the Wii & power supply itself if I can.

Hi all, I'm scratching my brain here....and it hurts...would someone be able to tell me if it is possible to get USB loader to read cheat files for my wii games on my USB drive....or ANY loader for that matter.
I really have been trying to figure this out for myself, but I'm getting nowhere fast.

Ocarina always appeared as a tab in USB GX loader, but I never tried using it...recently I thought it would be cool to download some cheats for my kids to use on their favourite games....the Ocarina tab never worked, so then I thought well maybe I actually needed to download it...even though it is 'there'....so I downloaded Ocarina and placed it in the apps folder of my sd card. My .txt cheat files are in sd://txtcodes and the .gct files are in sd://codes.

I run USB GX loader V3.0 rev.1271 - Ocarina ON and custom paths as they should be, (I've tried VBI and OSSleepthread hooktypes....only played with these because of things I've read...doesn't make any difference)
when I launch a game in USB loader I go to Settings...Game Load...Ocarina ON...Save

If I click on the actual ocarina tab...I get an error message saying 'no cheat file found......says 'download'....or 'cancel'... if I push 'download', it says 'initializing network', shows an IP address, then says that the geckocode etc is not shown on the server'

After some research I installed gecko OS....just because it seems to be pointing in the right direction...and I've managed to get cheats applied to one of my discs, but not ANY of my USB Games.
[Also, there is no load Channel option in my Gecko OS (does this matter?)...I ascertain I would need to get a patch for that if I needed it,....do I need it?].

I just want basic cheats for my USB games. I came across USB Loader GX enhanced....Is it different in that it would support this...or is it just not possible to do at all without the actual disc.

Is it possible? Do I quit? Why is this so hard? Or am I just being stupid?

Any other info you may need....please let me know

Thank you for your time and patience

edit:...Heavens Alive!!!! I went and changed the file name of my Wii txt file cheats in SD:// txtcodes to the relevant GAME ID instead of the Title of the game....and now the cheats load when I enable Ocarina with each game. I haven't actually tried it out yet to see how or if the cheats work,....but they show! Can't believe I didn't think of this first. Feeling dumb, but a happy dumb.

Curious if anyone ever came up with a GBA emulator that runs on Wii and can use the GC->GBA link cable to connect to a real GBA?
