Hello I just bought a new refurbished Wii and finished installing homebrew and everything else that was said in the video. Everything was good until I tried to make a second NAND dump backup on BootMii. I successfully created my first NAND dump backup and I had put it back into my PC and put it in a newly created folder labeled clearly. I also deleted keys.bin and nand.bin from the SD card to try and put it back into the Wii for a second NAND dump backup. When I tried loading into BootMii by pressing the home button on the Homebrew Channel and going to Launch BootMii, it just goes into a black screen and the Wii glows blue very quickly. I don't know where to start looking to fix it. I have a 32 GB SDHC Card by the way.

Thank you both for the help but I forgot that changing the name of the BootMii folder is what caused it and removing "_disable" which I had put in had fixed it. I have the exact files that CoolMe had sent me and managed to fix it regardless. Thank you both anyway.

Hello I was recently modding my Wii when I stumbled upon a problem when I was in the d2x cIOS installer. Specifically when it comes to installing custom IOS's. The first set of parameters are cIOS d3x-v11-beta1, cIOS base 38, cIOS slot 248, and cIOS revision 65535. When I press a two times as mentioned in the video, it fails and says tcp_connect timeout. I am on version 58 v6432. It also says that slot 248 failed while showing a red square for slot 248. Some other stuff on the screen says "Offline mode: IOS37-64-v5662.wad file required (downloadable with NUSD)" and "Warning(s): The IOS STUB detected in the slot 249 will be overwritten". I am not really sure what to do and if some step by step instructions, if possible, could be given, then that would be helpful.

Sounds like the console doesn't have internet connection, or something is wrong trying to grab the cIOS from servers.
I would stop watching video guides and see here

Or, run a syscheck and drop the generated file into ModMii. ModMii will generate cIOS files (in .wad form for easier install), and a guide specific to you.

Hey all, I posted this on Reddit a couple days ago with no response and I figure I may find a better response here.

I've been having an issue with USBloadergx on my vWii booting back to the system menu with certain games. For example, Guitar Hero 3 will kick you out, but Guitar Hero Smash Hits works just fine. Wii Sports Resort will kick you back, Wii Sports will not. This isn't an exhaustive list but I figure this is a deeper issue than certain games.

The naming convention was set correctly through WiiBackupManager (gamename [gameid]), I tried using different IOSes to load games in Usboadergx (249, 250, 251, etc.), I've tried reading over the online guide from the start again, and still to no avail. I've also tried the WBFS files in Dolphin to make sure they aren't corrupted or something, and they load just fine. I feel like I've followed just about all the basic troubleshooting guides available here at this point, and I'm still at a loss as to why it won't work. I've provided my SysCheck file if that helps at all.
(Also yes this is a Wii U technically, so if this doesn't belong here that's my bad).

Some games may have special requirements, like wii sports resort for example requires u watch the wii remote + video at least once before playing the game. Wii backup manager may remove the partition that contains the video if you're not careful.

Some other games may require you adjust video mode or language settings, although tbh I'm not sure if that's the issue in your case

You could also try Wiiflow or cfg usb loader

Your syscheck looks fine btw

Okay so I don't know if my question has gotten ignored in the past within this thread but hoping that I don't get ignored again, i am having problems with my Blue Family Edition Modded Wii..

Since the merge of Riiconnect24 to Wii Link, I have been having problems with the following channels:

Nintendo Channel: Everything boots up fine but it's the same videos everytime and download play games, and everytime that I go on a video, the video won't load at all..

Everything Votes Channel: Similar to the Nintendo channel where there's some functionality, but I get an error when doing some things in the application saying:

"There is a problem with WiiConnect24 communications. Data cannot be received at this time. Error code: 239001"

Forecast Channel: Application doesn't even boot, giving the following message:

"There is an update for the Forecast Channel. Please download the new version from the WiiLink Patcher."

When I try doing everything that it does to "update," I still get the same issue.

Honorable Mention but the Check Mii Out Channel: App opens, but there's almost always nothing going on in terms of the contests though when I try seeing the Miis people make, that's working like fine wine..

Interesting. I'll check out Wiiflow and cfg usb loader and see if that works. I do use Wiiflow on my Wii U and it works just fine, so I guess it would've made sense to do that from the start... And yeah it's totally possible Wii backup manager removed that video, would've been nice if it told me that before doing it ;_; Either way, I'll report back if I manage to fix it.

Hello everyone. Having this issue: when i try to dump NAND to EmuNAND through "Features" in usbloader gx it is unable to go further than 0.00% AND it takes away my ability to do anything so i'm forced to hold the power button and restart. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can dump your nand with bootmii then extract your nand.bin with showmiiwads and done or use modmii to get a extracted nand.

thank you for your replies, though i doubt i can figure it out on my own without a step by step guide for five year olds:):)

I purchased a modded wii and I'm trying to set things up to load games off of a USB drive, but I'm having trouble. The wii came loaded with the homebrew channel and USB Loader GX. When I try to load wii (or gamecube via Nintendont) games, it just returns me to the home screen. The list of games shows up, but none of them will boot.

Some things I could think of:

1) I'm using the correct USB slot.
2) The USB hard drive is 2TB USB drive (MBR) formatted to FAT32. The drive is a Buffalo HD-LX2.0TU3.
3) The naming setup is correct for the games as far as I know
root:\wbfs\Crash of the Titans [RQJE7D]\RQJE7D.wfbs
root:\games\Crash Tag Team Racing\game.iso

I'm assuming the setup of the console is correct. Could it be a USB hard drive compatibility issue? 2tb MBR drives formatted to FAT32 should work? Or did I pick the wrong drive? I was looking for a powered USB drive (not a portable drive) to use.

Any ideas?

You need to install Priiloader, Bootmii and some cIOSes. Just drag and drop your syscheck into ModMii, it will tell you what to do.
I'm assuming the setup of the console is correct. Could it be a USB hard drive compatibility issue?
Too early to tell. First do the above, and my guess it will do it
2tb MBR drives formatted to FAT32 should work?
Correct.
Or did I pick the wrong drive? I was looking for a powered USB drive (not a portable drive) to use.
Portable with a y-cable (usb) would work too.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I ran the syscheck into ModMii. It recommended that I download some new files and copy them to SD Card.

So, I can't seem to read the SD card that came with the console. It won't load up in windows explorer. Can I copy the files to a new FAT32 formatted SD card and use that for the remainder of the process?

Yes, do that

Yes. As for the sd card came with the console, check the lock slider if it has one make sure it's unlocked otherwise you can't access it.
