Hi guys

I haven't been around the 3DS scene for around 5 months (playing a lot of Switch!), but I remember a few months ago there was a large wave of bans happening.

I haven't switched my 3DS on since and wondered if the cause of the ban had been discovered and if there is any action or updates to Luma etc that needs to be carried out?

Thanks for any advice!

As far as I know, the banwave is over, but keep SpotPass off for now.

also:nintendo i didnt get banned and i played online with a cfw console step up

Yep, nobody can tell you the cause of the bans, they're all speculations (except I guess about ten people nobody knows about working at Nintendo)

"5 months" you may consider switching from A9LH to Boot9Strap, a technically cleaner and 100% libre coldboot exploit, seeing as some arm9 homebrews (only Luma actually) abandoned the .bin format, but there's no hurry to do so

Thanks for the update! That's really useful to know about switching from A9LH.

Have the bans stopped now or are the still rumbling on?

They seem to be over. And this question was answered:
Sorry, missed JellyPerson's response!
