What are the differences between XEB+ and FMCB and can the former be installed in every PS2 model and without having installed the latter first (so, when hacking the PS2 for the first time)?

XEB+ is a dashboard, FMCB is an app which modifies the OSDSYS on the fly.
Both can be used to launch ELFs.
FMCB usually gets installed as a bootloader and initializes the console by itself.
The Xmas Showcase of XEB+ does NOT includes a bootloader, so using PS2BBL is the recommended way to run it.
You can run XEB+ from FMCB or OpenTuna too.
The method depends on the console's model and in the fact of your MC having MagicGate or not.

What's PS2BBL?
