Hacking Questions about PS TV hacking ..

Hi guys,

I have a ps tv on 3.35 version. I read somewhere I can use the email trick.

But once it is done, what I need to do after to install a game ?

I read somewhere the hack is not permanent, when I turn off the ps vita I need to do the email trick each time ?

I do I install and run psp and ps1 games ?

I...think you're a little confused here, confusing the "email trick" which was just used to write/dump a few things to the memory card with Henkaku which is a full native Vita hack, but must be installed after every reboot.

If you want to play native Vita backups and homebrew plus PSP mode stuff, you need to update to 3.60 so you can install Henkaku. I suggest checking this thread for more information on that: https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-t...a-pstv-hacking-guide-check-here-first.403035/

Install it on the Ps Tv Memory or a Memory Card.

Ok, so I need to update to 3.60 to install Henkaku to be able to run vita, psp and ps one games but I need to install it every time I power on the pstv ? There is no permanent solution ?

Let say if I install couple of games and I power off the ps tv, can I still play them because they are already installed ? Do I need to re-install Henkaky to play the games ?
 
At this time, there's no permanent solution. You will have to reinstall Henkaku every time you reboot the PSTV, and if you want to play any homebrew or backup games Henkaku is required.

You can install the offline Henkaku installer (which is what I think confused you with the email trick), which will install the exploit into an email which you can then launch without ever having to go online after rebooting.

Ah ok, I read somewhere I can put the ps tv on standby instead of power off so we dont have to re install henkaku. I will look at the offline installer just in case I power it off :) So if I am understand right, if I power it off I dont need to re install everything, I just need to re-activate hunkaku ?

I just take a look on the guide, I dont see how to install psone games ?

Correct, you can just put the PSTV in standby mode and Henkaku will stay. When you reboot, it'll have to be reinstalled again. You won't need to reinstall any homebrew or games already installed.

For PS1 games, you have two options. You can use a PSP mode eCFW to run PS1 games, or you can use native emulation via Retroarch's PCSX-rearmed core.

For PSP mode, there are two eCFWs, ARK and Adrenaline. ARK is an XMB-less (so no regular PSP GUI) eCFW that supports PSP games and homebrew in full, and PS1 game support but without sound. Adrenaline is a full fledged eCFW with XMB (the normal PSP's GUI), will support full PS1 games in the future. At this time we don't know when the update to add support will release, but we know it'll come eventually.

Native emulation, as I mentioned, is done via Retroarch's PCSX-rearmed core. Since it's native emulation, and doesn't rely on the Vita's actual PS1-emu, it doesn't run all games at 100%. Most 3D games will run between 80%-100% speed depending on how demanding the game is, and most 2D games run at around 100%.

If you had to choose either option, at the moment ARK would probably be the "best" way to play PS1 games despite it's lack of sound.

Reminder -- you need to manually update to PSTV using a USB Key NOT online since 3.63 fixed the exploit.

I succesfully updated to 3.60 using the dns trick :) now I am looking for that email offline installer just in case I reboot the ps tv.

Thank you very much :) I have a dumb question, how do we exit from molecularShell ? I open it and I dont see how to return to the home. The ps button doesnt work ..

I also have trouble with the instructions how to download the offline installer. They say to go on henkaku website and download the vpk but I just see the install button and when I click it say I am on 3.63, maybe because of the spoofing ?
 
The offline installer is like any other homebrew app. You install the VPK, then open it and run the offline installer. It'll connect to henkaku, install the exploit to the email app and then you can start using the email app to install Henkaku.

The Henkaku update DNS should prevent any unwanted updates, so you can just leave that on.

I have trouble installing the offline version. I sucessfully installed the vpk, when I click on the offline installer it say I dont have email database. I try to reboot and now the appllication pop up an error C1-6775-5 occured.

Do I need to setup a email account to create that email database ?
