Hacking Questions about Hermes' cIOS

- install IOS222 as 36 merge 38... and use it in ALL games.

Ok...this whole Thread is a good Idea...but what is now the perfect solution? I still don't know more, all Posts suggest another combiantion...for me, IOS222 as 36 merge 38 would be a nice solution...but do you have then the perfect one, that works perfect with Mics, Instruments, WiiSpeak and all games? Or what? Would be nice if someone can still clear that up...

You can't do that. Just install 222 merge 36 with 38 if you're bothered and install 223 merge 36 with 37 for USB games. They all run with no problems anyway so they don't NEED ios222.

Because IOS249 gives you everything you want anyway most likely, but 222 will now add no sleep mode and 223 will add USB peripheral+dlc support to Rock Band and Guitar Hero games. If you don't care about these things, don't install ANY of Hermes' cIOS; there's no point. I assume if you're already here you like Rock Band.

Well, I like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, but don't use the Rock Band instruments, I use the GH ones, so no issues there. So far I haven't messed with DLC for either...

Furthermore, none of Hermes' IOS seem to work for me at the moment, for some reason, but 249 works fine. Sticking with rev12 for everything until there's some reason for me to change.

I just completed a test of CIOS222 (IOS36) with Metroid Prime 3. Using either version 1.9 or 2.0 of his loader, you don't need a disc in the drive.

I'm assuming this cIOS doesn't fix issues with restarting the Wii for games like Prime 1 and 2?

Just far too many options with this cIOS. Can someone lay down some foundational knowledge of what all of these things mean? I get that you can install the cIOS as 222 or 223, and that that's just where it's put on the Wii. But what is "MLOAD" and should I use that version? And when I install which base IOS should I use? 36, 36+37, some other option? What are the differences?

I've been looking and keeping my eye out for weeks for an explanation of this and have come across just about nothing.

I am not posiitive about any of this so I hipe you all can help me.
I hacked my wii and got the hard disk installed no problem. I cannot run animal crossing from the hard drive as the wii speak will not work. From what I understand Hermes cIOS 222/223 is suppose to fix this???
If this is true casn someone tell me how I am suppose to install this?? Do I put it on the sd and use wad to run or do I use homebew to run it?

sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but this is the only time i've seen 223 mentioned in relation to dlc - can anyone confirm this or point me in the direction of more info regarding it?

I agree, I'm not having any HDD problems, but I do want to know what to do to fix the USB thing (Guitar Hero shit).

If I understand correctly I should install 223 and merge 36 + 37?

Would it be possible to install 223 offline? When I add all the files to the 000001 folder,it stopped giving me the option to install 222 merged with 36&38, or the option to install 223. Is there something I am missing?

Has anyone been successful at getting Monster Hunter G to run through USB Loader GX using any of Hermes updated cIOSs on a NTSC-U system?

I have the latest USB Loader GX dol and I used the cIOS installer from uLoader 2.3. I chose to use IOS249 and installed cIOS 222 as 38 merged with 36 and 223 as 37 merged with 36.

Is this game still one that's not doable on a USB Loader?

Can someone explain to me what makes Hermes better than waninkoko's? I have been using Waninkokos cIOS 38 Rev13. I havent had any trouble with any games except Call of Duty 3. So what makes Hermes better?

I finally got Monster Hunter G working on USB Loader GX!

I set its individual settings to use IOS223 and set the 002 fix to ON! I'm using Wanin's Rev12 cIOS btw.

When I installed IOS223 using Hermes' new installer, I could not use the default setting of IOS249, so it might have something to do with Wanin's cIOS Rev 12 because when I chose IOS38, then the merge of 37 with 36 it worked for me.

Who cares it works!

BTW, using IOS223, it was still able to play with Error 002 OFF.

You are almost certainly using my guide to get those instructions, but you didn't download from the link I give on the guide. Hermes recently updated his cIOS from v3 to v4, and with that came a change to base the loader on IOS38 rather than IOS36.

Use the cIOS222 Installer that is from the 3.0B version of uLoader and you will get the same options that I indicate in the tutorial.
