I have some questions about DPG videos.

1st: What makes them so different than Mp4 videos?
2nd: When I encode a MP4 video to DPG this is what happenes. Pretend the Mp4 video is 4mb but the DPG video will be 6mb.
3rd: Why is DPG videos more Mb then Mp4?
4th: Can the DS play MP4 since it uses less memory then DPG
5th: And apps that let you whach DPG videos on computer?

1. They're specifically designed for the DS.
2. Okay, so what?
3. Because MP4 compresses the video more.
4. You have the idea wrong. Smaller filesize will take more memory to play. Small file = More compressed = More decompressing needed while playing = More memory required. So no, the DS cannot play MP4.
5. Use DPGShow.exe found in the dpgtools131 folder. http://www.ds-xtra.com/MoonShell

There's a cart called the iPlayer that lets you play most video formats without the need to convert. But it was blocked with the most recent DSi update...dunno if there's a way to get around that. But yeah, there's an application called DPGshow that lets you see DPG videos on your PC...never checked it out, though, 'cause all I need to do is just copy it over to my DS and play it with moonshell.

Yeah I know about the Iplayer. I just remebered that DanTheManMs once posted here somewere about a Mp4 player or was it a Avi player for DS I forgot.

There's an AVI player called Tuna-viDS. However, the AVI file has to be specifically formatted, so you will have to convert anyway.

I heard its can't play all DPG videos. Can someone tell me the fps Moonshell 2 runs Videos on and Moonshell 1.71? Are they both the same exact thing just 2 looks nicer?

...why don't you just try it out yourself if you're so curious? All you really need to know is that the DPG that Moonshell 2 uses is better. Looks better, plays better.

Moonshell 1.71 - Its a lower class, Moonshell2 - Updated, Looks x10 nicer. + why would Moonshell2 not be able to play all dpg files as well as moonshell 1.71 if not better? Moonshell 2 has 2 (layouts?) show all text in 1 line or 2 lines(1 line = Moonshell 1.71)(2 lines = M3Sakura)

Moonshell 2.0 doesn't work too well with DPG video files converted for 1.71. IF you can reconvert the video files with the DPGTools program included with 2.0, I'd recommend it.

I use SUPER to convert. Those videos won't work anymore with Moonshell 2 that I used with Moonshell 1.71?

EDIT: Just got Moonshell 2.05 to work. It runs songs so much better than Moonshell 1.71. In 1.71 the song What I have Done was so slow but in 2.05 it works perfectly. The videos seem clearer now to. Its a lot better. Only bad thing is that you can't listen to your songs when you close the DS lite unlike Moonshell 1.71 I wonder why he did that...

And it has a LOW framerate...
I also remember something called DSVideo, dunno what that could play or if it's still in development.

Does Moonshell 2 play videos and music better than moonshell 1.7
yes you seem very ignorant pon the subject of this concept but yet your trying to learn so thats nice. To make it easy on you use moonshell2 it has beter music playback and better Movie playback + it comes with a dpg encoder made for the best quality DPG encoding

Yeah I used Moonshell 2 and I see the difference. But I kind off like SUPER is the DPG encoder that comes with Moonshell 2.05 is it any better than SUPER?

You can, you just need headphones plugged in while the ds is closed. What's the point of it coming out of the speakers when it's closed?

You could still here something even if its closed. Which is a good thing. Is there a way to make it play even if the DS is closed?

EDIT: Also is there a way to make it louder than 150? In Moonshell 1.71 you could make it 400 lol.

EDIT 2: Which has better video/music quility Moonshell 2.05 or M3 Sakura?
