Yes it is.
But you need to run the fw.img before the installation AND to run any title with fake-signed ticket.

If you're familiar with the early 3ds hacking scene, you use an emunand, which is basically your wii u's internal memory put onto an sd card. You go into the homebrew launcher, load the fw.img, and it will load up rednand, where you can install whatever you want

yes but emunand is not a 14 mb file, that´s why im confused if only booting that file im on rednand or do i have to do something else

It makes a partition on your sd card after loading it. Make sure you backup the sd card.

It depends on which fw.img he has.
There's a wupserver one, and a rednand one. IMHO at this point you don't really need rednand, sysnand with signature patches is more than enough, saves you from buying a 64GB SD card too.
Not to say rednand doesn't support VCWii games atm. sysnand with sig.patches does.
