Hacking Homebrew Question with AMS and version 18.0.0

Hey guys, quick question here, a friend of mine accidentally upgraded his switch to the version 18.0.0 via internet (official nintendo) and, of course, his AMS broke as expected. The question now is:

He CAN´T enter both nand and emunand and an option here is to try to enter Hekate to "disable" emunand and try to enter the official one afterwards, but, I´m not sure if this would leave a "trace" for nintendo for a posterior Ban on playing online

So, it would be better to wait for the new AMS to fix emunand and try to go forward after that or doing the disable emunand method is safe?
