I was just curious if there was anyway to make it work on the DSi (Sorry, im new to the whole DSi scene, and i just discovered my treasured D/P DS Lite has a hinge crack, so i was looking to either buy a new DS Lite or a DSi). And if not, if i were to buy a new flash card for the DSi, whats the chance of Nintendo being able to patch it so that it wont run anymore?

I'm sorry but you can't run a card designed for DS/DSL on the DSi bacause Nintendo has built in a special blocker in the firmware of the DSi that somehow recognizes a flashcard and blocks it out. Now the flashcard teams have found a new way to start flashcard and they are selling them as special DSi flashcards. The teams have modified the Rom on the flashcard somehow that the DSi recognizes it as genuine

There's some videos on youtube showing people using an M3 DS Real on a DSi, I think someone said it was the unreleased Passmi...

But yah the chances of Nintendo blocking it will be 50-50. We don't know if Nintendo has the intelligence or even guts to do it. Plus a few DSi flashcarts already have updateable kernels so they can get around updates that block them.

Thanks for all the responses, didnt know much. Luckily since i just graduated my dad paid for a brand new DS Lite (Kept my old one, might trade it in toward a DSi soon), now that i know they cant fully patch them im really interested in one now.
