Hacking [Question] Possible to Dump Game Header without Gateway?

Sure it is, if you want to deal with a crappy command line tool instead of a nice Windows Form like No Ban No Sky or Sky Army Knife.
That, and to inject a private header, first you need to have it - this is where a GW or a Powersaves dongle come into play.
Well, I have a powersaves. So if I manage to get the header as explained above?is it enough with private header or do I need to change chip ID or any of those ID things? Also after rewirting games with new template (that has private headers) will I have to start games over or is it okay to restore old save data to games?
no one truly knows if you need the chip id also to not get ban. As of now its mainly the private header.
I dont know on the restoring saves. i have a sky3ds but dont use it online as i have orig games of online ones. So i didnt patch any of those.

oh oh bro, one last question, if chip ID it identifies the name of the game,could they match the name with the header's? or header has no relation to the name of the game?
I cant find the 00 00 00 88. Game does have online. Closest one I got has 00 16 00 88 then a bunch of zeros after it, then I got 00 17 00 and have what i think would be the private header followed by all the FF FF FF FF
highlight the save.bin (replace save with what you name it) Then look a line or 2 down.
I did find out that if you start to highlight to much that it will not display right. It could of just been my computer. IDK , i just know i didnt find it the first time but the second time i found it easy.
what do you mean highlight the save bin? Its already highlighted when you search it right? HeaderFile.bin Then after that I look down and thats what i find.

Nope, I just wanna know if that affects, since I used my mario kart 7 copy and I cant find the 00 00 88 numbers, Intead I find 00 14 88, etc so I thought it was cuz he had never use hs copy before.

Its a read only part of the game cart. So it can be brand new never used, or 2 years old used everyday online.

But if your still not finding it. The delete it and start from the beguning.
I have deleted 3 times, and everytime I make the new backup I get a different set after the "HeaderFile" (save) is highlighted. I dont get it, Im doing it exactly as shown on video :/ Even if manage to find header, how can I use it, if no ban no sky asks for a header bin file. I would have a header on a .txt file

That is a blank template file, the private ID should be the first 16 hex bytes
the chip ID is also in there
alright, thank you. Now to finally inject it, when I open ram while running powersaves, do all game s(with online capability) show 00 00 88? Cuz the closest thing I find is 00 17 88 etc. I tried pulling the header from smash bros and theres not even FF FF FF FF lines. Soe games do have them, but instead of 00 00 88 , they have 00 14 88, or 00 16 88) etc then what i think would be header, followed by FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF. ALso I have to go to like 10 lines down to see a FF FF FF FF line
