Gaming Question on NTSC-U games on NTSC-J system

My cousin has an NTSC-J Wii system, however she cannot read Jap . I've been doing a lot of reading about bricking wii's and i see that WBB 1.3 protects our systems from being bricked. Does this work 100% of the time? She lives all the way in Asia and im sending her games, so im worried i'm gonna screw the thing over...Which scenarios/games should i avoid? and which games have the latest WII update (she doesn't have WIFI setup).

Also one more question, is there any way to change the menu into a dif language (ie chinese? english?)

there isn't really any problems with bricking as of yet while using it... but who knows about the future games
