Can MK8 be played using separate joycons WITHOUT motion steering? example: each joycon would play the same as MK7 for 3ds without need of tilt to steer

Yes you can play with just 1 joycon without motion steering. Just pause the game during a race and deselect motion steering.

You can also press on + or - during the kart selection to toggle motion-steering, auto-acceleration and steering-assist.

thanks dudes, i held off on buying solely because of questions of that one possible setting
