So, I did everything in this guide here - https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki and had no problems. I can now boot between sysNAND and emuNAND just like it states and by default I'm booting into emuNAND.

Not sure if I did something wrong, but I noticed I no longer had a way to get to the HBL after I completed this (I'm guessing I copied a wrong NAND back somewhere, or I dont fully understand yet what I'm doing). I booted into sysNAND, used the browserhax method to get the Homebrew menu to come back up and then I ran FBI and installed the hblauncher_loader.cia file on to SD. I rebooted back into sysNAND and sure enough I had "received a gift" and opened it and it put the Homebrew Launcher icon on my screen and it launches and runs perfectly.

So, everything seems fine in SysNAND.

I'm assuming I cannot install HBL in emuNAND as that is running the most current systems software 10.6.0 and how I play my carts, etc.

So far, am I correct with everything I've said and done to correct my missing hbl on sysNAND?

My last question is I have no idea what I need to do to play some of the rom files I have. I have a .3ds file for a rom and I have no idea what to do with it or how to get any other roms loading. I'm assuming that can only be done from sysNAND. Is there a guide or tutorial that could help me?

Am I asking the right questions or just totally confused about what I should be doing next. I'm just happy I didn't brick my system during all of this and I'm able to boot by default into emuNAND and by holding down L to boot into sysNAND.

Thanks in advance. You guys have been a big help to me getting all of this done.

You can't install roms to the home menu, only .cia files. There's a way to convert them, but I've never done it myself since it looked somewhat complicated.

And the HBL should launch fine in emunand as long as they aren't linked.

How do I check to see if emuNAND and sysNAND are unlinked? I believe they are but want to make sure. Is there any need/reason to have HBL in emuNAND if I'm running 10.6.0 in emuNAND?

Change theme on one if it changes on both they are linked

Cool.....I'm not linked then.

What would I gain by having HBL on emuNAND? Since emuNAND is is on 10.6, I wouldnt be able to do much with HBL, would I? I'm not even sure how to get HBL on emuNAND since the broweserhax I know how do to is patched on 10.6. I do have a copy of Ocarina of Time arriving tomorrow though.....

Here. Method is: Dump .3ds file in a folder, launch software, choose FW spoof if needed, choose "Convert 3DS ROM to CIA", choose the location for the 3DS files. Next choose where to save them and you're done.

(The thread mentions xorpads, but you don't need to gen them anymore with the latest version.)

Ok. I understand now how to make the 3DS file a CIA file now. How do I launch the CIA file? I'm assuming I need something in HBL and this can only be launched in my 9.2 downgraded sysNAND and not enuNAND. Sorry for the stupid questions but the 3DS stuff is all new to me. I feel like such a n00b again!

You could inject Devmenu or FBI into Health and Safety with Decrypt9.

Are you being for real, cause that's hard to believe, DK is Nintendo and made in japan, Sea of thieves was from Microsoft, in America. I'm not calling you a liar, just didn't know.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
