Hacking Question about using old 2ds with cfw to hack New 3ds

I have hacked 2 2ds last year using sound hax. I have done 3 New 3ds xl this year with dsiware method.

I want to get 2 New 3ds xl black consoles since they are $179.99. If I hack them now I want to put them back in boxes for Xmas and I want kids to still be able to play their 2ds until then with the cias on the sd card.

If I use the 2ds to install cfw on brand new 3ds xl with 11.6, does the old 2ds lose abilty to play cias or do the game save data get lost?

Everything can be restored on the source except the NNID. It will take a minimum of 7 days to hack both of them (since you'll have to do two system transfers, one from old to new, another from new to other new)

In the 7 days before you can hack the second time will the source 2ds still play cias installed in the sd card?

The source devices are 2ds that I hacked with sound hax. Kids play them ever day. I don't want to be hacking Christmas eve after kids In bed
