1st im not sure where to ask this, so im posting it here under wii hardware...

so im wondering for the nes classic mini edition (which i believe has the wiimote's nunchuck port) is it possible, and how would i go about doing a, usb to nes classic mini converter? there's basically just 8 buttons need A B START SELECT +D-pad

reason why i want a usb input would be to play with a arcade-est setup

i tried looking for one for sale cant find one... ive found many to go the other way around wii classic controller to usb which is NOT what i need.

if you find/know where to buy one please let me know!

OR

if you know how id go about making one! help would be very much appreciated!

you will likely not find one for sale.

This is due to there is not a good way to making one that supports all usb controllers. As each usb controller is different.

So you need to know which usb controller you want to use, so you can start trying to implement that specific one.

Below are the wii retropad adapter and nintendont. retropad adapter is a adapter that is not usb but gives you an idea of converting diferent controllers to the wii remote/ classic controller adapter.

https://github.com/bootsector/wii-retropad-adapter

Nintendon't gives you an idea of how different usb controllers can be and how hard it can be to support them all.
https://github.com/protomouse/nintendont/tree/master/controllerconfigs

Also note that even though wii remote and nes mini use the same port. Does not mean that the same code is used or will work between both devices.

emio has found this out the hard way. Their implementation worked on the wii/wii u remote. So they assumed it would work on the classic nes... oops. in order to save face they claimed that it was missing a required adapter in the box... Yeah they just didn't have a nes mini to test against; so when it worked on the wii u; they thought it would on the nes classic. The Adapter was a work a round found after the fact. (this is my opinion)

Another is raphnet's implementation of controller conversion from wii remote to other controllers.
http://raphnet.com/products/brd_extenmote/index.php
http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/extenmote/index_en.php
However on the products page it explicitly says does not work with nes classic. It probably can work but the firmware would have to be tweaked. Same issue as the emio probably.

I have not done it personally. So can't really help further than here are a few web pages that look helpful.

Good luck!
