Hey there,

I haven't seen this asked yet I apologize if it has but is it possible to get the first two save slots back without destroying the hack? I have the hack and homebrew channel installed and my lil bro has got me into actually playing Twilight Princess, really good game that I never gave a chance. The problem now is that there is only one save slot and we both cant have our own saved game. If I delete the hack off the SD card and then start and save a game will it overwrite the Twilight Hack? Has anyone tested that out before to confirm?

If you have the homebrew channel installed, you don't need the TP hack anymore. Go ahead and delete it.

You didn't backup your save before you copy the hack? :/

I know it will overwrite the hack, but I don't know if it will be playable. Also, you don't need to have both TP Hack and HBC.

Well I got my Wii not so long ago and like just got onto homebrew scene. So I didn't even need the homebrew channel and the TwilightHack together? Wow I thought thats how you got the homebrew channel in there in the first place. I'm going to delete the TW hack off the card and test. I thought If I did that the homebrew channel will disappear which I don't want too btw thanks for all the quick replies.

Yes the twilight hack is only required once. It will install the homebrew channel, which can then run on its own.

Awesome thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks. I'm noticing allot of Europeans on here thats cool I just got back from Portugal after a year living over there.

its possible.
Just delete the savegame slot you dont use...(the one you cant use becouse it needs a different disk)

Wow, this is great to know. I have a legit copy of Twilight Princess but it's in my waiting list of games to play, once I finish MP3 I'll move on to that.

Question though: what about other hacked stuff outside of the Homebrew Channel, such as channels installed using WADs, will those still work if I delete the Twilight Princess hacked save file?

If you're installing and uninstalling WADs it's a good idea to keep the hack on your Wii, as in some circumstances it is useful a banner brick occurs.

But how would you even get into twilight princess without a modchip without being able to use bootmii (which isn't released) or star fall (which only works on 3.2). It freezes before you can get to the system menu with a banner brick.

an other question. is it possible to replace the two not needed saveslots in the hack with to slots out of a legit twp savegame? i am asking because i played a lot and it would be great to keep my saves. right now i deleted the tw-hack after installing hbc and wanted to install it again to be on the save side.

Maybe with a safemii
in certain situations it can be the only way to debrick (3.3 menu, bannerbricked, with modchip supporting autoboot)

The post used to say on 3.3 without a modchip. But he edited it.

all the info you need about resolving banner bricks:

http://framework43.blogspot.com/2008/10/banner-bricks.html

including why you must have SOME REGION of TP-hack on a 3.3,

take note, 3.3 modchip users:

just obtain another region zelda, keep your save file for YOUR region, and install the twilight hack for the other region. easy peasy.

Okay.... I haven't come back to this topic since yesterday. Lots of info to take in for a noob like me. So from what I'm getting since I'm not a mod chip user and installed home brew on a 3.3u and not a 3.2 Wii. I should actually keep the TW hack in there just in case of accidental bricking but keep only my region hack and save over the other regions which should still bring me up to two unused save slots which is all I need. I get that right?
