Hacking Question Question about Software Updates

So my first switch is banned. I am going to buy another one just for online play. So, if i unlink my nintendo account from the 1st switch (by calling nintendo) and link it to the 2nd one, will i be able to share game updates with the first (banned) switch? Is it possible?

Yeah this works. I have two as well.

Caveat: they both need to be the same firmware or it will update the firmware too

anyone know how you can tell if your switch is banned or not? i have my wifi off but sometimes i turn it on momentarily and use the update game via internet option and it always works. then i turn off wifi again.

By trying to access eshop. If you're banned the eshop won't open and it would say this console is currently restricted etc. If you update games via internet you have a chance to get banned. Sorry to say but you will get banned eventually. Because you opened wifi on a hacked system with backups.
