I decided to do n64 emulation on the wii u so i can play n64 games on there, and it requires an overclock every time so that the games run well. My question is: how risky is the overclock and how much does it decrease longevity of the console?

like he said there is no risk since there is no true overclock lol

when wiiu run wii mode it just slowers the cpu speed so wii games get the same wii speed, what this does is just lets it keep the same speed as wiiu mode, the wiiu itself is made to run at wiiu speed all the time, so there is no problem at all the console doesnt get hotter or waste components it just keeps the same speed instead of slowing down.
