Hacking Question about modding

So I have an already modded switch, SD card, payload works, ect.

so I bought another unpatched switch, completely clean - can I just throw the SD card into this switch and load hetake as normal? Thank you. - I don't need to do any backups, there's nothing on it.

You want a backup before running any homebrew. Besides being the life insurance of your Switch, it's also the only option to truly bring it back a clean state.

If you ever decide to sell it off, you will get far more if the device is back in it's original state and still unbanned.

Also you wouldn't believe how many help requests here remain unanswered as no backup is present.

If you put a SD card normally your NAND will get dirty and down the road you can get banned,

Rule #1 Backup your NAND
Rule #2 Make an Emmunand
Rule $3 Use 90NDS / SXOS is kinda better since Stealth Mode is already built in. (This will prevent you from getting banned)

Up to that point it is up to you

SD cards don't get people banned. And using 90DNS/Stealth Mode don't prevent bans, they only delay bans because they mimic being banned.
