I'm considering getting a PSP 3000 and I read that the only way to boot into custom firmware on startup is through something called Infinity Firmware. I also heard that it's highly unstable though, is this true? I'm completely new to the PSP homebrew scene so I don't know much

I think 3000s might be compatible with 6.2 coldboot? Apparently if your PSP came with a version after 6.2 it's dangerous to downgrade though.

As someone with a 3001 and Infinity/LME, absolutely not. It's worked with every plugin I've tried and no game/homebrew has ever crashed.
