Hello everyone! I just got a Nintendo Switch today (yay) and it is in the 'yellow zone'. I just wanted to ask how could I get my Switch into RCM mode without a JIG, paperclip or aluminium foil. I am not allowed to hack it until I find a safer way to get it into RCM. (I just want to see if it's patched.)

Safest way is jig. Just order one in ebay, it’s not that expensive. Other than that, all others are prone to some damage as per other users. I originally used aluminum foil and it’s fairly easy.

and by the way, the ones you mentioned are the easiest ones. Other methods require to bend the pins, solder then together, put a reed switch on the right joycon etc. Don’t look for other alternatives. Not unless your switch is on 4.x

Well I can't buy a JIG, I am not allowed to buy one so I need to use a DIY method. As for paperclip or/and aluminium foil, I am not allowed to use them because my parents think I can brick the Switch if I do something wrong. (And it was pretty expensive.)

You’re out of options then since you are looking for the safest alternative. Not unless your switch firmware is 4.x or below

Nope, it is 8.1.0, sadly. Well I think I will beg my parents to buy me a JIG for Christmas (I hope my switch isn't patched).

Jig is the safest. Safety pin or clips can easily damage and deform your switch pins while tinfoil can short your switch if you aren't careful.
