Hacking Question about Corbenik

I have luma3ds but I'm switching to Corbenik. I was looking inside the release folder and there were payload_stages and I remember putting them inside the files9 folder for luma3ds but the guide says "Put these files in the root of your SD." I'm not sure which to put them in. Someone tell me.

Use the skeith nightlies as corbenik stable build is old now.

They go into the boot folder inside the corbenik or skeith folder
