Gaming question about buying DC universe online

Hey guys.
I was wondering what would happen if I buy DC universe online now since the PSN Store is still under maintenance and in order to play the game you will need to use the activation code and redeem it on the PSN Store.
but since Sony is giving like 45 days to every user right now for the PSN hacked incident, , maybe I will be able to play it without redeeming the code. or no?
try searching but couldnt find anything about it.
except sony saying they will give 45 days or 30 days + days that psn was down. but will that apply to new user like me? or do I have to wait for the PSN Store?

It said all impacted players would get the extra time, since you were not an impacted player at the time, you will not get the free days, same situation as me...i should have renewed when i had the chance

my friend didnt renew it but when he tried to play it yesterday, he was able to play it?
