Guys I need help. I followed that method exactly. But when I try to backup my ds saves, my ds screen says data transfer failed please do over again. Why won't it work? And where do the sav files go after you upload them?

I had the same "Data transfer failed. Please do over." error as well. It would connect to the FTP and etc. All settings were correct. After reading many discussions like this and not getting it work (but feeling more confident my settings were right) I decided to turn Windows Firewall off completely.

It worked!

Give that a try.

Bigger games take longer to backup.

For Heart Gold / Soul Silver, they work differently because of the IR for the Pokewalker. IIRC, you need a certain retail device to back up saves, though I admit to not checking recently, so something may be able to back up the data. Not sure about PMD: EoS.

Look here for various backup methods for IR games: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/sh...e-(D-P-Pt-HG-SS-B-W-Nearly-any-other-DS-game)

As for PMD, it's one of the few games, if not the only one, with a 128KB save, so I guess that's why some backup utilities can't access it (it also freaks out DeSmuMe). Savegame_Manager and the USB devices can access it.
