I'm about to grab my SC2 from shoptemp, but I'm wondering if anyone could tell me about the memory card I'm looking at. Looking at a Kingston 8GB microSD Class 4. Any opinions on this card? Thanks in advance!

What about the "class 4" thing? I'm not sure what the whole class thing is really, but I vaguely remember reading somewhere it makes a difference.

It does.

Class defines it's Write Speed Mainly.

I have 2 fully working, not fake 8GB Class 4 and Class 6 Cards.

Class 4 Reads at 11Mb/S and Writes at about 4-5MB/s
Class 6 Reads at 16MB/s and Writes at about 7-8MB/s
(Just my Pc Reads on tests and such, is effected by my slow PC... I think :/)

Class 4 Read Speed is good enough for all game so far, the writing is a bit slow when saving big game like DQ9, HG/SS etc... and I have noticed the Class 6 makes it faster at this.

So if you've got a few £/$'s extra, grab a Class 6 Card and if not, don't worry, Class 4 works fine.

I'd definitely recommend Class 6 if you can. IMHO it can help with some homebrew that heavily uses the SD card too, such as Quake 2. Besides, it's awesome that DQ IX saves quicker than the 'saving' music can play.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
