Gaming (Q): Wii U Gamepad Battery Upgrade Question?

hi all,
recently since modding my wii u to play wii/Gc games via haxchi/cbhc.
and i noticed that the stock battery in the gamepad runs out pretty quickly,
i chnaged some of the settings it had like turning off rumble (tosave battery life), turn on power saving feature and brightness 4 -> 3.
now it works a bit more than before in terms of battery life. but a bigger cap battery in mAh wouldn't hurt?

i was wondering if it is wroth it upgrading the stock battery that the gamepad (WUP-012) came with so that i can have more battery life/playtime.

the default battery is WUP 012, it is only 1500 mAh, the upgrade one is 3000 mAh, not sure if i should try and find the offical WUp 013 one or get a 3rd party WUP 013 one?

the upgrade battery is larger than the stock one and goes into the gamepad horizontally instead of vertically?

Lithium batteries degrade with age even if they're not used, so any battery marketed for the Wii U is probably not going to be very good in 2021. This has been my experience with both a third-party replacement battery and the Nyko UBoost (which I have kept as a kickstand, for e.g. Pikmin 3 where the Gamepad shows the map but Wiimote+Nunchuk is better than button control).

If it's cheap, go for it, but the results will probably not be great. You may have to just get used to playing with the AC adapter attached.

well the upgrade battery that is horizontal and 2x biggert han the stock in mAh, is rather cheap on amazon, but might be okay/god
the reviews say that some of the batteries for wii u are no good/no better than the stock one.

the cost for a upgrade one isn't that exp, depends on who you buy it from, and if it is 3rd party or offical.
not sure if the offical wup-013 still exists in 2021, maybe not.

You should try to look for Nintendo brand WUP-013 if you can find them, the extra mah is well worth it if you play long session.

yeah thanx for the info, hope i can find one tho nowadays.
the gamepad feels like a switch pro, it's so easy to handle and play games like gamecube,
i've been playing metriod prime 2 and pokemon colessum for some days now instaed of my switch, lol.

but they play on wii u 100% better than on dolphin on my andriod phone (these specific games).

i hope amazon has this WUP-013 battery avlable to buy, will have to do a serach tho.

I recently bought a battery replacement for a 13 year old phone, it's probably degraded, but it does hold up

They are really hard to find and cost around $100 or 83 Euro now a day, I spent $90 USD on mine back in Juky 2019.
