*Looks at diet pepsi*

Eh, oh well. Been drinking diet pop all my life, even regular pop. If it means I don't get to grow old, oh well, don't exactly want to look like an overgrown white raisen anyways.

I know people who drank diet soda for years now. I'll continue to drink, until I see someone die from diet soda. Until then, :sodachug:.

I hardly drink soda. In fact, unless my stomach is upset or I'm at a restaurant and the water is gross I usually only drink water and orange juice. Diet soda is gross anyway (aftertaste FTL). I drink soda maybe once or twice a month because I don't really care for it. Once in a while I'll have lemonade, but it's usually water or orange juice.

Soda is shit.
In Europe I used to drink a nice glass of red wine with my meal, which not only is healthy for us, but it also gracefully enhance or complement the flavor of your food.
But most people over here go to a fine restaurant and drink 2 or 3 diet soda with their meal, which to my culture ( I love fine food ) is an offense.
No wonder people have fat asses and eat unhealthy shity food around here .
A few educated people know how to eat and drink and stay healthy, and they look great, at any age.
But unfortunately the masses are uneducated, and they only harm themselves.
Plus drinking wine is often seen as a bad thing, but that's because most people are to weak to know their limits and know when to stop.
Hence , ridiculous laws around here forbidding consumption of alcohol till you are 21 yo.
Big bullshit because anyway young people find a way to drink over here anyway, and when they do they take advantage of it and do it way to much, while as a kid in Europe I could actually help myself to a little wine with the meal with the whole family, and I never became an alcoholic because I wasn't deprived of it and I knew I could do it anytime.
And doctors around the world will tell you that a glass of wine a day, will actually have extraordinary benefits on your health both on short and long terms(good for the hearth, skin, blood circulation and pressure and so on).
So yes , I think we should ban soda !

Here is a story about soft drinks...

My brother is almost 10 years older then me, almost 20 years ago he had painful kidney stones, he drank almost exclusively soda or milk. I guess he doesn't like water.

I am now 10 years older then he was at that point and no kidney stones*

Moral of the story people, drink water its good for you and thats not a bad thing!

As a side note, if your going to drink soda, I believe your better off not drinking the diet stuff.... and stay away from food coloring too!!!

You can't avoid all the bad things we eat or drink in our daily lives but you can do a lot to cut down on your intake of the bad crap.

*How I know I have no kidney stones you ask? Well none on my MRI I had about 2 weeks ago... or the CT scan or the HIDA scan.... Turns out I was extremely low on potassium and could have died. Interesting medical tidbit, low potassium levels can really fuck you up bad... lol and now I have to take pills

but I have to say I feel a thousand times better then I have in years!
and hey at least it wasn't cancer!

I'm a sodaholic

for real.

I drink a lot of soda, in fact all I drink is soda (cola, pepsi, sprite) except for my morning coffee. It hasn't always been like that, just for about a year and a half. I hate "light/diet" products, never drink those, I only drink the originals.

I am a very healthly man and have no diabetes, and I'm desperately slim so soda doesn't affect my weight. But I'm worried that drinking this too much might affect my health somehow...
People around me are telling me to stop but it just make my meals so much better...

note: yes I'm being serious

That's like asking someone who smokes cigarettes, or is addicted to cocaine or something, it's hard to stop because either:

a) the stuff is too addicting

or

b) people don't care [such as myself] and just want to drink stuff that tastes good.

Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, and the cans of energy drinks I drink a day, I wouldn't give that up at all.

Soda also contains oxidane and dihydrogen monoxide. Both are quite deadly in higher quantities.

LOL. Dihydrogen monoxide = water... muahahahahaha!!!

Anyways...

Meh, the rule is always "Moderation in everything; including moderation". A lot of stuff is harmful to your body (breathing "air" in a modern city is like slow suicide). Of course, you should still take care of what you eat and stuff, but, hey to each his own. If it makes them happy, then let them eat cake

(it's a lie)

If you drink a lot of water in such a short time, you'll get water intoxication. So in a way, water is harmful?

I'm pretty sure that was the joke. =P I think even oxidane is like water, not exactly sure what that is.
