if it's an old xl %100 if it's a new xl probably only like %5
Your're old3ds guess is perfect. The new3ds, however, probably more like a 25% chance. More if you check serial codes.
It hasn't got *New* in the name, so I'm assuming that means it's an 'old' one. I can never keep up anymore. -.-
Your confusion is totally nint's fault with the silly naming system they have.

All the 'old' previous editions of the 3ds and XL will be suitable for gateway, the stopped building them a while back.

Awesome! This was what I was trying to find out. Wasn't sure whether they were still in production, or whether they stopped after the release of the *New* versions. Thanks!

Yeah, trying to explain to the Gamestop people that you're looking for a 'New Old 3DS XL' is a real pain...

And let's end this thread by bowing our heads and saying, "screw GameStop, you filthy scammers."

Amen.

(Glad that you got what you wanted though :))

From Gamestop I'd say it's ridiculously unlikely you will get anything below a 9.4.

All the Targets near me are 9.4 units and they don't sell as many new3DSes as Gamestop does.
Your only hope honestly is trying a retailer that NOBODY buys video game stuff from and might have old stock. Costco maybe?

She was talking about the old 3DS XL. And she got what she wanted.
