Hi everyone !
I just bought a PSTV, upgraded to 3.60, installed Henkaku, and I was wondering if, someday, the VitaTV hacking would permit using a USB key/drive as an emulated memory card ?
Vita memory card cost an eye while 16Gb usb keys are cheap af, so should I wait and see, or is this impossible ?

Someday? Sure. Then again, some scientists say that time travel will be possible someday. That doesn't mean it will happen soon or ever, though. It'd be rather inconvenient, though, seeing as how the PSTV only has one USB port. I would imagine an SD to Vita memory card adapter would be more feasible.

Wouldn't that be quite difficult as those memory sticks are in a proprietary format ?
In order to use a USB drive as an emulator, you would need to know the thing it is emulating inside and out, so this difficulty you're imagining would be present in both situations.

I have heard it's being worked on, at least on a theoretical/RE level, and will probably come after Henkaku is REd

In what way?

1. Dump a card to a flash drive
2. Redirect io to the dump
3. ??????????
4. PROFIT!!!

But seriously, it's usually much harder to make a hardware converter than it typically is to redirect io.

Why? It's not just a pinout issue or we would have had these a while ago.

No reason to be so negative. I'm very excited to see how the USB port gets used.
