Gaming PSP will freeze when loading/saving a game

I have a PSP 1000 (phat) with 5.00 m33-6 CFW. I ripped some of my games to my memory stick to play without UMD's, but now when I go to save or load a save file (I found this happening in ALL of my games) 75% of the time the XMB-looking saves menu pops up and I can do what i need to do. But sometimes it will go to a black screen, not showing the saves menu. This is really annoying and I would really like some help. Thanks.

None. I don't have any plugins at all. It's also happened when I had 6.60 PRO-B.

To check Magic Gate support from the XMB just go to the Game scrolling menu on the XMB and hit triangle, then select information.

What sort of stick is it?

MagicGate is Supported.

This PSP has had some issues before, like fonts being messed up at times, wifi is broken, home is broken, and the note and brightness act as the home button.

This sounds increasingly like you (or someone else) has messed up the IDStorage.

Although the saving could just be because the PSP is borked.
