I've been out of the PSP scene for a while so I thought I'd update my PSP to the latest GEN firmware. I was on GEN-B so I thought I'd follow the order from GEN-C, to GEN D, to D2. I updated to GEN-C and I thought it said it finished updating successfully. But when it rebooted, it goes to the wave PSP background and it hangs then it shuts off. I'm able to get into recovery mode but I can't get to the XMB. Anyone can help me with this?

Well gen-c is buggy and that is why gen-d was made. Not really sure what is wrong but you could use the recovery flasher back to m33-6 update to gen-b2 and then to gen-d then d2. Try disable your plugins as well.
