I just bought a PSP-1001 and would like to replace the shell. Does anyone have a recommended shell and/or seller? I'd like to stick to black, white, silver, or transparent with tool/hardware included if possible. I've read that the crystal shells scratch very easily and would like to stay away from those.

Also, would anyone recommend the spare/pandora combos over the regular pandora batteries? I like to have both negative and positive reviews before ordering stuff like that but if there's nothing negative to say about them I guess that would be a plus.

Thanks in advance for any input

I previously bought a replacement psp phat shell from dealextreme.com, they ship to most countries and the prices are pretty good too.

As for your pandora/spare question, you can mod a psp with HEN now, so don't really need a pandora battery.

My PSP has OFW 5.51 though so HEN isn't an option for me. I'd definitely rather have the brick protection too. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with those pandora batteries that can be switched to regular batteries with the push of a button.

dealextreme.com is where I'll most likely be ordering from and I'm very patient so waiting a month for it to arrive is not a big deal at all. I have Crisis Core, Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, God of War, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythologies, Dissidia, FFVII, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Brave Story to keep me occupied in the meantime...

(I'll never get through all of those)

Any recommendation on a specific shell? There are quite a few different ones on dealextreme.com and pretty vague customer ratings.

Heya man I don't want to spoil your happiness with dealextreme but I ordered a couple of items from them, including a shell. The shell was awful. Nothing seemed to fit right and it started leaving ripples on the screen and such. I had to remove it before other damage ensued.

With regard to which shell to get/etc, the good ones are usually at $15-20, such as http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13255

though they don't come with shoulder buttons. I had to find another seller (here in the UK) to buy my shoulder buttons, at about £3/pair.

Some others:

With the switchable pandora batteries, I'm not sure how good the switching systems are as I've only ever used a pandora that I made myself. If you're looking for a good battery though make sure the mAh is over 1200, or you will have to recharge it very often

Hope that helps.

That's probably just from a bad batch. Deal extreme, though they have long delivery times, are very good from my experience.
