Go on google and search up custom firmware for psp

You can get the Dark Alex's latest custom firmware Here
The readme should cover anything else (assuming you already have 1.5 firmware)

I go to qj.net then to the forums. Actually, I've been there only twice. Once when I first downgraded my psp, then a second time recently to upgrade to 3.4 oe.

PSP-Hacks.com is the best site when starting out with modifying the PSP. I knew nothing about modifying a PSP but after spending a couple minutes reading the guides and message boards, I was good to go.

To be completely safe, visit their IRC chatroom, people will walk you through the process and even direct you to some helpful guides.
