The way I understand it is that only 00km can harddown a TA-082 MB and so far he isn't sharing his secret. Also a TA-082 MB which has been harddowned to 1.5 shouldn't have a problem upgrading to 3.02 OE since it can install any firmware 2.6 or greater.

I suppose only 00km or Dark AleX would know for sure about that. Though I would say chances are good that if you get a 1.5 firmware psp it will have one of the first two motherboards. maybe it's a refurb but who cares if it works.

DA just released the softdown recently for the TA-082. As long as you have 2.71 or below of firmware, 3.02 OE is a couple downgrade/upgrades away.

Hm, you won't need devhook with 3.02 OE. Just put the iso in /ISO/ and start it by browsing to your memstick!?

running ISOs from the memstick works fine, but I want to stream them from my PC using UBShostfs

Devhook .5101 still works fine for me under 3.02 OE-B.
guess I'll have to re-install devhook...
I used Devhook 0.46 before upgrading to 3.02 OE-B...does the USB mod work with Devhook 0.51?

I don't think so, I think there is some kind of modified plugin if you emulate lower firmwares with devhook (aka not 3.x) under .5101. USB wise .46 is the best way to go, probably run a hybrid devhook for now but you risk corrupting saves for custom firmwares 3.02 OE and later devhooks that emulate 3.x on the newer games.

but 0.46 doesn't support any firmwares over 2.71, I think

is there ANY way to play, let's say MGS Portable Ops over USB?

@deadcell: thanks, Devhook .5101 works for me now

still can't play over USB, though

guess I'll have to buy a 2gig card after all...it least it's worth it now, thanks to 3.02 OE-B

Wow this is so amazing... but i need you comp wizzs's help. I can't seem to find a good guide on how to run my LEGALLY ripped psx isos on 3.02 eo-b, if anyone could help me with this i'd really appreciate, with a guide or some tips or something

thanks in advance

yeah, a good guide would be to read the readme that came with DA's popstation release. Then maybe do a search on a psp site for hex editing save #'s so your saves don't overwrite each other. And that's all. It's not hard.

You can run MGS:PO under devhook .46 if you make it a hybrid. There are plenty of guides floating around telling you which files to replace so you'll have a 2.71/2.8x hybrid or a 2.71/3.x hybrid, either way it'll make newer games run like MGS. However, the problem arises when you try to load the save game in let's say 3.02 OE or devhook .5101 emulating 3.x because of the sig check needed in the 3.x firmwares (hence you have to create your own firmware dump on new devhook). The saves may corrupt on newer games.

that is not neccessary, they really don't overlap each ones...the thing is, the save is a virtual memory card, even though if you look at them from the psp XMB and they say it is one specif game save, when you go to another game and save, it is saved in a different slot...I got all my saves in the same save file, all on different slots...people hex editing isos are just wasting their time
and I am still keeping devhook on my psp, probably forever(or until there is a fix), just for my metal gear solid save saved on hybrid devhook >.

no more hex editing is needed

PSP brew

No more HEX editing. This version of PSP brew has proven be useful in many ways with the new firmware 3.02 OE-b. By renaming the eboot within PSP Brew, you save the problem with saving more than PSX emulated game.

I amaware that the saves never overwrite eachother. I only Hex edit my saves simply because I like each one to be in a seperate folder. It makes them much easier to manage, backup, change, edit etc. It only takes me a few seconds to Hex edit before each game is compiled. If I had all of my Psp games for each different UMD in the same slot I would do exactly the same. It definately isn't necessary but it isn't a waste of time either.

All PSPBrew did for me was choke on shit and die when I fed it Symphony of the Night.

EDIT: Nevermind, it just took ages to read it.

PSP Brew is not working that great for me. The first PS1 game I downloaded was Castlevania syphony of the night. I have the game but I couldn't convert it cause I needed an eboot to rename to base.pbp. The castlevania I downloaded already had modified save and game icons. looks great. Using that as base.pbp I converted my own Xenogears, FFVII and Parasite Eve They all work great but have the icons in the menu for castlevania SOTN. I tried using PSP brew to rename the eboot. It does take a good minute or so to load the game in PSPbrew. However after I change the name I can't resave the PBP. It gave me an error saying it ran out of space (over 100Gig left on that drive) I tried it a few times. Just not working for me I guess. Though admitedly it was late last night and I had to head to bed without much troubleshooting. Still has anyone else had this problem?

This means that it was already converted for your use on PSP.

base.pbp needs to come from HotShots Golf 2 from the PS3 store/bittorrent site. popstation was designed after HSG2...
