I was just noting that most countries don't observe Daylight Savings Time. Also, it makes sense to store that setting with date time.

If a battery were to rupture, the battery acid from it could corrode the surrounding components and the PCB. The PSP has a sequestered compartment for the battery, preventing that.

Then I don't know why I'm asked to set it after charging the battery after I put it back in.

It's over 14 years old. Get another psp they don't cost much 🙈

This is my 5th PSP.

The battery's capacity has depreciated so much that, even though it says it's charged, the charge that it's holding is minimal. The chip that holds the time and date is not getting a constant voltage. Your battery is shot.
