Any PSP 1000 (fat/phat) can be hacked with a pandora no matter what
The beauty of having a pandora-compatible PSP is that no firmware update can stop it.
Will the firmware needed downgraded before a CFW can be installed?

You use a pandora battery and a Memory Stick to downgrade too, but you can use it to install CFW straight away, as it doesn't allow the firmware to load. I've written a guide that's pinned at the top of this section; it should have the instructions you'll need, and if I need to change anything, let me know and I will.
