    yo gbatemp

i have a question, seeing that the psp hacking world is a bit falling down with no dark alex and yoshiro rumor that he quits.

i have decided that i want to learn to hack the psp.

i know it's not easy and it takes a lot of learning practice and much more and i am prepared for that.

but i don't know where to start :S

i googled a bit but only founds guides how to put cfw on your psp. i already know that have done that many times

ok the things i basicly want is:

    - maybe a team or a partner

    - where to start learning to hack

    - my ultimate goal is to hack the psp go [IMG]

sow gbatemp where to start ?

You might want to show a bit of what you can do before anyone will jump on your bandwagon. no one is going to join a team where the team "leader" doesnt know what the hell hes doing.

In your original post you did.

Anyway, if you're so experienced, why are you asking us how to hack the PSP Go? If we knew anything, we'd have done it. Duh.

Find an exploit in the PSP Go. Then you will be loved.

    As you asked

First C++ is OK but it will not make you a hacker "out of the box", on the other hand you can code with it which many will like more. Low level hacking is a different beast. You need not master everything and indeed you can skip to other steps and go back to earlier ones later.

    Step 1: Electronics.
    http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/index.html
    http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/tutorial_...tutorials_id=57
    http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Electrical-Engin...ience/index.htm

Too many people get hung up on digital electronics here and omit the basic analogue electronics, good news is that is also applies to the objects you want to hack- so many times have devices fallen because the security is "digital" only.

    Step 2: Low level programming.
If you have done 1) you have probably realised that every machine is different, they have however built on the same principles and if you can not transfer knowledge you have no business hacking anything.

    http://www.securitytube.net/Assembly-Prime...tion-video.aspx
    http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,2447.0.html

Step 2.5: High level programming, pretty much everything these days is made in high level language which confers some nice advantages.

    http://www.cprogramming.com/
    http://www.coranac.com/tonc/text/video.htm

It should not be hard to drum up links on this subject.

    Step 3: Cryptography and/or security.
http://www.schneier.com/ and his books are considered some of the best here.
    Poke around a.b.e-book.technical as well.

Step 4: Hacking proper. Many places to learn this sort of thing, personally I like conferences and example sites to be good here:
http://events.ccc.de/congress/ as an example from links I have open right now, there are loads of others.
Blogs also, there are hundreds of these but this http://www.gnucitizen.org/blog/default-key...me-hub-routers/ is the sort of thing you are after.
These sorts of things detail hacks, methods and are a good insight into the mindset required.
http://www.eevblog.com/ is perhaps also of interest- you need not limit yourself to "hacking"- remember that transfer of knowledge comment earlier.

I would not consider it true hacking most of the time but the following sites are somewhat interesting on occasion:
    http://hackedgadgets.com/
    http://hackaday.com/

Step 5: Pull things apart, anything and everything ever made will fall into this category. From the bookmarks

Good news is that information is free and what once cost several hundred of your chosen currency now probably exists in a USB form on dealextreme or has been relegated to software status.
The dominant piece of advice: to look at a complex system and figure it out instantly is near impossible, every complex device is a combination of parts though so break it down into said components or subsystems.
