Hacking PSP hacking help (Firmware update)

Hi all! I've asked a lot of questions about 3DS here but this is my first time doing so for PSP ;;

Basically, I recently was able to get my old PSP working again and wanted to play some games, I already have CFW ready to go on it, using the quick installer for 6.35-B or something or other.. to be honest, I don't know a lot about this stuff so if there's some information there I'm missing please let me know!

Either way, I've read the newest version is 6.60 and was thinking I might need to update to that version for the best experience - The only problem is I haven't a clue how and was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction if possible. The main reason I wanted to do this was because I was getting an issue with corrupted save data on some games and thought this might help, but either way I was thinking it might be a good idea to try to update.

Thanks for replying! I dont know how I left out model number, oh my gosh! I'm on a 1000 with Firmware 6.35, with 6.35 PRO-B, the fast recovery thingy that lets me go into CFW.

That's my problem! I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to 6.60 if there's anything special I need to do since I already have CFW.

First you have to UNINSTALL your CFW if you have it permanent installed.

Then you need the official PSP System Update to 6.61 from Sony.
I remember from my first PSP experience last month.
Then you can delete your old CFW Files from the Memory Stick and can use the Files from the 6.61 PRO CFW.
And whilest you have an 1000series PSP you can use the permanent CFW Install (use the CPL Flasher).
