Hacking psp games not recognized

I'm on permanent CFW 6.20 PRO-B6 and when I put a game in my memory stick, which is filled with over 2 gb of memory, the pspsays "the data is encrypted".
Also tried formating the memory card, no luck.

What about homebrew? Does it do the same?

Strangely I reformated it again and it said "You have no games you can ....." whether I have or I don't have homebrew.
then when I hook it back to my PC the homebrew is deleted

Get a new, non fake stick or ditch the adapter.
