Hey when u buy a PSP wat fw will it have?

I'm assuming you mean if you buy it brand new, boxed, from a retailer?

If so, use THIS GUIDE to determine what FW a new PSP has by looking at it's box code.

does it still matter what fw a psp has in order to downgrad/install a custom fw? i think a pandora's battery will work on all of them. right?

yeah pandora can downgrade every psp version.

Well the lowest firmware the PSP Slim&Lite ever got was 3.60 and afaik that firmware doesn't have any bugs discovered to downgrade it without the pandora battery. So it won't mather if it's 3.60 or 3.80 or anything in between anyhow. You'll just need to get a pandora battery someway.
