Gaming PSP firmware 6.39

Ok so on the Playstation site, I saw that there will be a PSP firmware 6.39, so does that give USA a possibility of getting Monster Hunter 3rd Portable?

I heard the update was for improving security due to the PSN hacks and stuff.

But that's probably bs; they just want to keep people away from 6.38 and below because of the downgrader.

i doubt the updates fer that anyway psp aint dead yet they will most likely bring it over(though i find the MH games dreadfully boring)

Maybe MH isn't your fav game. I like it very much, it's addicting, but I wish it has storyline.

I'd say its to do with PSN Store reportedly coming back up today.

EDIT: Can't confirm this, I got the "Update Now" message when trying to access Store, trying to install the update now. Need to let my PSP charge more though

There is not only a downgrader, but also public source of a kernel mode exploit (don't think a current kxploit has ever been open sourced in PSP scene before), so we could be seeing a HEN sometime soon.

Wasn't the 6.36 or 6.35 one? It's the one this is based off it.

It's extremely likely, the source code of the kexploit was publicly released.

Maybe the ME branch, but why something new? You can downgrade to 6.20 or 6.35 and use one of the stable versions with this already.

6.39 doesn't even add anything useful as far as CFW goes.
