I'm a bit down today. As stated above, it seems my PSP is pressing Select by itself. When I perform a coldboot 2 hours from turning it off, It works fine. When I press select, especially when playing Symphony of the Night, Select button goes crazy and keeps on displaying the map. I can still move Alucard and all but when i Turn off the PSP and then turn it on, None of the other buttons seems to work. and VSH menu pops like crazy. Do you guys think my PSP is messed up or the "ribbons" or does my PSP just need some TLC (cleaning)? I'm becoming restless - PSP ARRGGH! GROWL!

Well, start with some cleaning and TLC. Then take a look at any plugins you have. Does the SELECT problem occur with any other games? For a while my psp did the same thing with the volume button; it would always come up, but the volume never went up or down.....after some cleaning, it worked fine. Maybe even open it up a bit to clean, you never know.

If it's a hardware problem, i'm afraid i'll be of little use to you. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

You might have something stuck in the contacts. Try opening her up and clean the "button ribbon" I dont know what else to call it...the strip of plastic that has all the bottom buttons...and then clean the contacts themselves.

Problem is I'm still a newb to the PSP scene. Don't know how to open up my PSP and am very much afraid to do so. But I do want to check it 1st to see if I can do it myself rather than wasting money on some guy who learned cleaning PSPs from the interwebs too. Anyways, do you guys have a VERY GOOD guide which can help me troubleshoot my problems. I have searched everywhere and I'm pretty good at it too but to my surprise, I found nothing but just a guy who uses alcohol to just wipe dirt from his PSP using cotton-balls and alcohol.

Thank you guys for giving me tips on how to go through with this. I was able to find a very detailed step by step guide on how to open my PSP. Guess I saved myself the trouble of having to spend money for cleaning it. Again, thanks for all the replies. Mods please lock the thread now as it has served it purpose. Thanks.

    If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
