Gaming psp 3000

anyone with recomendations on which firmware to use and for downloads////or which version of psp would be best 1000/2000 or 3000????

1) Wrong section
2) Which firmware to use for what? If you are using it with legit games, then OFW 6.20 (I think thats the latest one?) is the best. If you want CFW, you need 5.03, above won't work.
3) The PSP 1000s are ALL hackable with Pandora, no matter what firmware is on, MOST 2000s are hackables and VERY few ones are able to CREATE Pandora (and TA-088 V3 mobo can't use a Pandora) PSP 3000s/PSP 2000s (w/ TA-088 v3) NEED 5.03 so you can enable ChickHEN R2 and install 5.03 GEN-C to play the latest games in ISO/CSO format.

i,am in process of trying to purchase a psp but cant find out from sellers what the versions are...sorry about not being clear with question...dont really know what to do and what to download for games..NOOOB...so if chickhen r2 was on there for a phat 1003 can you down load games TO PLAY....

chickhen needs to be on 5.03,you load chickhen,then run the XGEN updater(if you want GEN,if M33 run the m33 updater,google)then you gotz free games

iam still a bit confused with the initial hack...i have a 1003.with firmware 3.11..not sure if to get the pandora and cfw 5.00 m33-6 firmware preloaded which seems easy option or to follow the chickhenR2(not sure how to configure this and get confused on how to do the 5.50gen-d were is this)......ive got gen-c final release/m33-1234....

please point me in the right direction want to hack and be able to download games to play????

Follow steps 2-4 on here:

When you have done that, you can decide to update to GEN D3 or D2.
Don't go onto GEN C, it can brick.

When downloading games (if its in a .rar file) extract it with winRAR or 7zip.
Then you should get an .ISO or .CSO and then you place that on your PSP in a folder called ISO (should be there already, if not make a folder on the root)

If you extracted the file and it comes up with two folders (SYSDIR and USRDIR) you extracted too far.

i also have another psp1003 with version 6.20....does this mean its srewed for hacking reading some of the other blogs says that with ver6.20 you cant hack it or is this just the 3000.....

A 1000 model will be fine as long as you get a pandora battery.

ok so CFW 3.90 M33-3 is installed and will update to 5.00 m33-6 once battery is charged...i know that the files for downloads will be iso will i need to just create a iso file on card to play these games or will i need an add on

Once CFW is installed, the ISO folder should be created automatically, if that's what you mean, though that may be just GEN; I didn't spend much time on M33.

If you're staying on M33 then for some/most/all ISO games, you'll need a game decrypter.
